Conserve with Crayons ("we," "us," or "our") is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to protecting your privacy, especially the privacy of children. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information on our website (conservewithcrayons.org) and through our coloring contests and scholarship programs.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable laws. Our site and contests are open to all ages, including children under 13, but parents or legal guardians must submit entries and applications on behalf of children under 18.

Special Notice to Parents

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All contest entries and scholarship applications for children under 18 must be submitted by a parent or guardian, who provides consent by submitting the form. We only collect the minimum information needed to run contests (e.g., child's first name and age for crediting and categories) and notify winners. Parents can review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's information by emailing us.

Information We Collect

From Contest Entries (submitted by parents/guardians):
- Child's first name and age
- Country
- Parent/guardian name, email, and optional phone
- Uploaded artwork (JPEG/PNG/PDF)
From Scholarship Applications (emailed to us):
- Applicant's full name, age, address, phone
- Parent/guardian contact info (if under 18)
- Essay and optional supporting materials
From Donations and Shop Purchases:
- Name, email, billing/shipping address, payment info (processed securely by Stripe/PayPal — we do not store card details)
Automatically Collected:
- IP address, browser type, device info, and usage data (via cookies and analytics tools like Google Analytics)
- We use essential cookies for site function; no tracking cookies without consent

We do not collect more information than necessary.

How We Use Information

Run contests: judge entries, announce/display winners (child's first name, age, artwork, country - with credit)
Award prizes and scholarships
Send occasional updates (only if you opt-in)
Improve our site and programs
Comply with laws and protect our nonprofit

Winning artwork may be displayed on our site, social media, or merchandise (with credit; you retain ownership).

Sharing Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share only:

With service providers (e.g., Wix for hosting, Paypal for payments, email tools) under strict confidentiality
If required by law
Artwork publicly (as described) for nonprofit promotion

Data Security

We use reasonable measures (encryption, secure servers) to protect information. No method is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
